A decision made at the last minute: a few days off, a few funds available, feeling like chucking everything in: I go to Sezzadio at The Bliss Beat Festival, four days of yoga, music, dance organized by the "Hari-Om" Yoga School for Teachers.
A comfortable small tent easy to pitch, a sleeping bag, a knapsack, some clothes and sportswear and the adventure begins.
I arrive there the night before the start of the festival, I look around I see some old friends of mine hugging each other, smiling, looking peaceful and relaxed even in the general flurry of the final preparations. I eat something and I fall asleep quietly in my mini-tent down by the pond. The moonlight and the frogs' croaking keep me in sweet company. You can feel the peace already.
The next morning I wake up early at 7.30. and I have the dilemma of choosing the way to start the day: there are, in fact, three practice rooms where you have free access to several workshops. I choose the meditation one with Tibetan singing bowls and crystal bells, an awakening for the soul. After this, a small break and then again to experience other ways of approaching and practicing yoga. I let myself go by intuition.
I feel like a child in a toy store that can take and try everything: from laughter yoga to ecstatic dance yoga, from tai chi to contemporary yoga and much more, a really wide range, with competent teachers and indisputable human qualities.
Happy, even if a little tired, at the end of the day I just got some time for a shower and for the delicious vegetarian lunch served by the restaurant where everybody's all ready for an evening of music and concerts.
And here's another nice surprise: a fully equipped stage, excellent acoustics and a full program of world-famous Bhakti musicians. During the four nights of the Festival I have seen: Jaya Lakshmi, Brenda McMorrow, Philippe Franchini, David and Mira Newman, Dave Stringer, Jai Uttal, Girish, Wah, Donna De Lory, Nitya and Ninad, Emy Berti. Even the extraordinary participation of Irene Grandi! Three exciting concerts every evening in which you can sing, dance and let yourself go to the energy of the Kirtan sharing a feeling of great energy and harmony.
Making a detailed account of each one of the four days would be too much. But the most beautiful and clear, to me, is that the last night at the concert "Gala" everyone is feeling good with each other, feeling "friends" together, united by the deep magic thread created every day.
Inside my heart there is still the echoes of mantras, the sound of breaths and laughter; in my eyes the spontaneity of the smiles and the clearest and the brightest colors of the look.
In my mind I'm already thinking to participate at the 2nd Bliss Beat Festival, scheduled from 19 to 22 July 2012. But this time I will book in advance ... actually, I do it right away, so I can enjoy the discount!
See you there, you will recognize me easily by my mini-red tent ...
